What does Photo Metadata Remover process?

This utility is designed to create a shareable copy without ordinary photo metadata. Processing stays in your browser, so the selected file is not sent to a Remove AI Labels server.

For JPG, PNG and WebP, the compressed image data stays intact: the tool rewrites metadata structures and does not re-encode the pixels.

Choose the right metadata tool

EXIF commonly stores camera, time and GPS details; XMP carries extensible editor data; C2PA/JUMBF carries Content Credentials; and PNG text chunks can hold prompts or workflows. Dedicated tools let you choose a narrower scope.

For privacy, prioritize location and identifying fields. For distribution preparation, archive the source and clean a separate copy.

Verify before you share

Inspect the source, run the appropriate tool, download the clean copy and inspect it again. The compressed pixel data of a JPG, PNG or WebP remains unchanged apart from removed metadata structures.

FAQ

Perguntas frequentes

Is my file uploaded?

No. Inspection or cleaning runs locally in the browser.

Does this guarantee a platform will remove an AI label?

No. It processes file metadata, while a platform may use pixel watermarks or other signals.

Will JPG, PNG or WebP quality change?

No. The tool rewrites metadata containers without decoding or re-encoding the compressed pixel payload.

Does HEIC preserve the original pixels?

No. HEIC/HEIF must be converted to JPG, making it the explicit decode-and-encode exception.

Which metadata types can the tool process?

Depending on the selected mode, it can inspect or remove supported EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, C2PA/JUMBF and PNG text chunks.

Can I process multiple files at once?

The cleaner supports up to 30 files per batch and 15 MB per file. The checker reads one file at a time for a clear report.

Should I inspect the file again after cleaning?

Yes. Open the downloaded copy in the checker to confirm that the target fields were removed.

Should I keep the original?

Yes. It may contain useful camera, copyright or provenance information.

Can this remove a visible image watermark?

No. A watermark embedded in pixels is part of the image rather than file-level metadata.
