Remove AI metadata before uploading to Facebook

Prepare photo posts, Page images, Marketplace listings and ad creatives in your browser. Strip C2PA, XMP, EXIF and private metadata before posting.

Verdiepende handleiding

Why inspect an image before uploading to Facebook?

Images prepared for photo posts, Page images, Marketplace listings and ad creatives often pass through several apps. Each export can add EXIF, XMP, IPTC or Content Credentials, so inspect the exact final file to understand what will be shared.

Remove AI Labels works on-device. For JPG, PNG and WebP it removes metadata containers without decoding and re-encoding the image, preserving the compressed pixel payload.

Choose the right cleaning scope for Facebook

Use the full cleaner when the distribution copy should omit private metadata and provenance. Choose AI-only cleaning when camera information must remain, or use the dedicated GPS tool when location is the only concern.

No metadata utility can guarantee a decision by Facebook. A platform may also use pixel watermarks, visual classifiers, account disclosures or information retained from an earlier upload.

From image source to the final Facebook upload

Archive an untouched provenance copy, make a separate sharing derivative, inspect the download and only then select it in Facebook. Apply the same workflow to every file in a carousel, gallery or listing.

When an AI tool created the image, the source-specific export guides help identify likely markers before you move to the destination workflow.

FAQ

Veelgestelde vragen

Can this remove a label already shown on Facebook?

It cannot alter a file already stored by the platform. Prepare a clean copy and upload it again when appropriate.

Will the pixels change?

For JPG, PNG and WebP, the cleaner rewrites metadata containers without decoding or re-encoding compressed pixels. HEIC-to-JPG is the conversion exception.

Is a no-label result guaranteed?

No. The tool removes readable file metadata; the platform may use additional signals.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The file is processed locally in your browser and is not sent to our server.

Should I clean an image before or after editing it for Facebook?

Finish editing and export the final asset first, then inspect and clean the exact file you will upload.

How are C2PA, XMP and EXIF different?

C2PA carries provenance, XMP carries extensible editor data, and EXIF commonly stores camera, time or GPS information.

Can I process a batch of images?

Yes. Select up to 30 files, each up to 15 MB, then download files individually or as a ZIP.

Should I keep the original image?

Yes. Archive the untouched source when you may need authorship, camera or provenance records later.

Why might Facebook still show AI information?

The platform may use pixel watermarks, visual classifiers, account information or a result retained from an earlier upload.
